If an infant or child is in the passenger seat, you must turn off the passenger airbag. The passenger seat does not have a mat sensor, and the airbag needs to be turned off manually.
Follow these instructions to turn off the passenger airbag on or off.
Procedure
- Open the passenger door.
- Locate the airbag on/off switch on the side of the airbag.
- Turn the switch off.
- Passenger airbags will not deploy in case of an accident. The passenger airbag off light will illuminate.
- Remove the key from the switch.
