Hyundai Elantra Headlight Replacement Guide
Learn how to replace the headlight assembly on Hyundai Elantra 2011-2016. This guideline applies to both driver-side and passenger-side headlight assembly.
What you will need
- Hyundai Elantra Headlight
- Metric Sockets
- Ratchet Wrench
Procedure
Place the gear shifter in the park position. Turn the ignition off and remove the key. Pull the hood release under the dashboard. Move to the front of the Elantra and press the hood latch release. Open the hood.

Remove the headlight bolts. Two 10 mm bolts and one 12 mm bolt need to be removed.

Unplug Electrical Wires. Press on the electrical wire plug and pull it away from the headlight. The location of the headlight wire socket with the headlight removed is shown below.Remove the headlight assembly from the vehicle. Pull your Hyundai Elantra headlight assembly forward. Be careful, as you may damage the front bumper during this step.

- Install a new headlight assembly in reverse order.

- Tighten the headlight bolts hand tight. Overtightening the headlight bolts can fracture the plastic clips.
