Procedure

  1. Open the hood. Pull the hood release under the dashboard. Go to the vehicle’s front, unlock the hood latch and pull the hood up.The hood release of the 2011 Honda Fit. Use the hood strut to hold the hood up.Putting the hood strut to hold the hood up.
  2. Remove the five push clips on the bumper support bracket using a fastener removal tool.Removing the push clips on the front bumper support.
  3. Remove the fender liner screws on both sides of the vehicle. There’s one screw on each fender liner.
  4. Remove the five push clips and four screws below the front bumper.
  5. Pop the front bumper out from the headlight assembly.Pulling the front bumper from the headlight assembly. Repeat this procedure on both sides.Pulling the front bumper from the headlight assembly.
  6. Carry the front bumper out of the vehicle.Removing the front bumper of the Honda Fit.
  7. Remove the four 10mm bolts on the headlight assembly. Use a 10mm socket wrench and twist it counterclockwise to remove the bolts.The location of the bolts holding the headlight assembly.Removing the bolts holding the headlight assembly.

  10. Remove the 10mm bolt on the bracket below the headlight assembly and pull the bracket out from the headlight assembly.The bolt to be removed to pull the bracket out from the headlight assembly.
  11. Get the new headlight assembly, line up the bracket and reinstall the 10mm on the bracket.
  12. Line up the headlight assembly and bracket to the vehicle.Putting the headlight assembly to the vehicle.
  13. Reinstall the four 10mm bolts on the headlight assembly and twist them clockwise to tighten.Reinstalling the 10mm bolt holding the headlight assembly.Reinstalling the 10mm bolt holding the headlight assembly.
  14. Reconnect the electrical connectors of the headlight assembly.Reconnecting the electrical connectors of the headlight assembly.
  15. Line up the front bumper back to the vehicle and push each side to lock the front bumper back to the headlight assembly.Installing the front bumper back to the vehicle.Pushing the front bumper back to the fender.
  16. Reinstall the push clips and screws of the front bumper.
