Due to the swirl flap system’s failure, the check engine light may turn on in 2005-2015 Mercedes-Benz vehicles equipped with V6 M272 and V8 M273 engines. We see quite frequently that the tumble flap gets stuck activated, triggering fault codes such as P2004, P2005, and P2006.

Symptoms

  • Borken Swirl Flap Arms
  • Check engine light on
  • Rough idle
  • Reduced power
  • Decrease in MPG
  • Limp Mode

Solution

Mercedes-Benz dealership’s recommended solution may be to replace the entire intake manifold, which can be very expensive but fix the problem.
