This guide is a step-by-step procedure for removing and replacing the turn signal/wiper switch (also known as a combination switch) on a Ford Fusion 2013 to 2020.
What you will need
- T10 screwdriver
- Ford Fusion Combination Switch
Airbag safety: Before you unplug any airbag, clock spring or seat connector, switch the ignition off, disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait at least 10 minutes so the airbag system’s backup power drains. Never probe airbag connectors with a test light or meter, and set a removed airbag down with the padded side facing up, away from your body.

Remove the two T10 screws on the turn signal switch using a T10 screwdriver.
Pull the turn signal switch out of the vehicle.
Line up the new turn signal switch and push it in.
Reinstall the two T10 screws and tighten them by turning them clockwise.
Remove the two T10 screws on the wiper switch using a T10 screwdriver.
Pull the wiper switch out of the vehicle. Reinstall the T10 screw on the wiper switch.
Reinstall the steering wheel and airbag.

If the Airbag Light is on after replacing the combination switch, read the stored codes first, because a code that comes back points to an unseated connector or an off center clock spring.
