Procedure

  1. Remove the door panel. If you need help with this step, follow these procedures for removing the door panel.

2. Remove the window. If you need help with this step, follow these procedures for the removal of the window.


3. Remove the nine 10mm bolts on the window regulator’s panel by turning them counterclockwise using a 10mm socket.The nine 10mm bolts holding the window regulator's panel.


4. Remove the rubber grommet of the inner door handle’s cable by pulling it out from the window regulator.Removing the rubber grommet of the inner door handle's cable.


5. Disconnect the electrical connector of the window regulator motor by pressing on the clip and pulling the connector out.Disconnecting the electrical connector of the window regulator motor.


6. Pop out the window regulator to have access to the inside cable attached to the window regulator’s panel.Pulling the window regulator out from the door.

7. Remove the cable of the inner door handle from the window regulator’s panel by pulling it out.Pulling the cable of the inner door handle out from the window regulator.


8. Disconnect the electrical connector for the door actuator by pressing the clip and pulling the connector out.Disconnecting the electrical connector of the door actuator.

9. Detach the inside cable from the clips on the window regulator by pressing the clip and pulling the cable out. Use a pick tool to pull the cable out easily.Removing the cable from the clips attached to it.

10. Push the rubber grommet of the inside cable out from the window regulator and place the cable on the other side of the window regulator.Pushing the rubber grommet out from the window regulator's panel.

11. Pull the cable harness rubber grommets out from the window regulator and detach the cables from the clips by pulling them out.Pulling the cable harness out from the clips attached to it.

12. Pull the window regulator out from the door and remove the cable harness from the window regulator by pulling it out from the other side.Pulling the cable harness out from the window regulator.

13. Carry the new window regulator near the door and insert the cable harness into the hole on the right side of the window regulator.Inserting the cable harness back to the window regulator.


14. Set the new window regulator to the door. Then connect and attach the cables to set the cable harness into place.Setting the cables and connectors into place.


15. Insert the cable of the inner door handle and the cable of the door actuator to the other side of the window regulator. Then push the inside line back the clips to set it into place. Setting the cables of the door actuator and inner door handle to its original position.


16. Reconnect the electrical connector of the door actuator by pressing the connector into the door actuator.


17. Set the window regulator to its original position and install the nine 10mm bolts to hold the window regulator.Installing the new window regulator of the Kia Forte.
