Scanner Guide: How to improve the battery life on your YOUCANIC Scanner
Is your scanner dying too quickly on you? Do you have the battery saver turned on? This step-by-step guide will help you improve the battery life of your YOUCANIC scanner. Please make sure your device is not charging before you begin.
Through Battery Saver
1. Go to Battery Saver on the second page of the home screen.
2. From here, you can manually turn battery saver on and activate or deactivate Standby intelligent power saving.

3. To manually turn battery saver on, select the turn on battery saver option, and select Turn On on the following screen.
Note: The scanner used in this guide is YOUCANIC’s latest UCAN-II-C model. However, these steps will work for other YOUCANIC scanner models, such as the UCAN-II-B and UCAN-HD-A scanners. The steps above will not work if you own one of our UCAN-II-(a) scanners. Please follow the steps below.
Through Settings
If your scanner does not have the battery saver app, run software updates to make sure your scanner doesn’t have that function before following these steps.
1. On the home screen, find and select Settings.
2. Once in the settings menu, find and select System Settings.
3. Find and select Battery on the menu bar.
4. Make sure that the Standby intelligent power saving is on, then select Battery saver.
5. Make sure “Turn on automatically” is on, and adjust the percentage at the level you want the battery saver to be activated. We recommend setting the level to 75%.
You can also manually turn on the battery saver by selecting the “Turn on now” button. Before selecting “turn on now,” unplug your scanner. The “turn on now” function will only work if your scanner is not charging.
When not in use, make sure you power your device off properly by pressing and holding the power button for about 5 seconds, then selecting Power off or by pressing Turn Off on the home page.
With these steps, you can improve the battery life of your YOUCANIC scanner. YOUCANIC scanners should be able to function independently for several hours.
