Replace Rear Turn Signal Bulb & Blinker Light Mazda 3 2013-2018

What you will need

  • Flat screwdriver or fastener removal tool
  • Light bulb
    • 7440NA
    • 7440NALLB2

Procedure

  1. Unlock the vehicle and open the trunk by pulling the trunk release under the dashboard.The trunk release of the 2016 Mazda 3.Opening the trunk of the 2016 Mazda 3.
  2. Remove the two push clips on the trunk shield behind the outer tail light assembly. Use a flat screwdriver or fastener removal tool to pull the push clips.The push pins holding the trunk shield.
  3. Pull the trunk shield down to access the socket and electrical connector of the turn signal and blinker light.Pulling the trunk shield down to have access to the connectors and bolts on the outer tail light assembly.The electrical connectors behind the outer tail light assembly.
  4. Disconnect the connector by pressing the clip and pulling the connector out.Disconnecting the electrical connector of the blinker light and turn signal light bulb.
  5. Twist the socket counterclockwise and pull it out from the tail light assembly.Removing the socket of the blinker light from the tail light assembly.
  6. Remove the light bulb by pulling it out from the socket.Pulling the light bulb out from the socket.
  7. Install the new light bulb to the socket. Push the light bulb in until it snaps into place.Installing the new turn signal light bulb.
  8. Line up the socket back to the tail light assembly and twist it clockwise to lock it into place.Reinstalling the socket back to the outer tail light assembly.
  9. Reconnect the electrical connector by pushing it back to the socket’s connection port.Reconnecting the electrical connector of the turn signal light.
  10. Place the trunk shield to its original position and reinstall the two push clips.Putting the trunk door shield back to its original orientation.Reinstalling the push clips back to the trunk shield.
  11. Check the new light bulb by switching on the rear turn signal and blinker light.
